CONFERENCE
Our Intention
As the world faces the challenges of climate change and the post-COVID-19 era, it serves as a significant reminder of rebuilding our relationship with nature. Against this unique backdrop, we propose “The Healing Power of Nature” as the theme for this conference.
Taiwan will play host to the 10th International Adventure Therapy Conference, IATC in 2025.
This will be the first IATC held in the Asian region. Scholars and practitioners worldwide who are interested in ecological and adventure-based healing work are welcome to participate in this event. We also look forward to welcoming our neighboring countries in East Asia who are working in related fields to join us at the conference.
THEME
What is our intention?
Taiwan will play host to the 10th International Adventure Therapy Conference (IATC) in 2025, a time when Taiwan has undergone significant changes in political, economic and social aspects for 400 years. The ecological environment has also suffered significant damage, but in the past three decades, it has gradually recovered due to the rise of democracy and environmental awareness. As the world faces the challenges of climate change and the post-COVID-19 era, it serves as a significant reminder of rebuilding our relationship with nature. Against this unique backdrop, we propose “The Healing Power of Nature” as the theme for this conference.
This will be the first IATC held in the Asian region. Scholars and practitioners worldwide who are interested in ecological and adventure-based healing work are welcome to participate in this event. We also look forward to welcoming our neighboring countries in East Asia who are working in related fields to join us at the conference.

AT in Taiwan
AT development of AAEE
Dr. Chih-Mou Hsieh was the pioneer in promoting AT in Taiwan. In 2006, he convened Taiwanese experiential education professionals to found the Asia Association for Experiential Education (AAEE). Adventure therapy has always been a key focus of the association’s development. AAEE’s promotion of adventure therapy in Taiwan can be divided into three ways: learning from abroad, accumulating domestic experience, and international interaction.
