To ensure a smooth journey for participants of the 10th International Adventure Therapy Conference (IATC), we have compiled transportation options from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Taipei City and further to Hualien Train Station.

Step 1: From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Taipei City

1.Airport MRT (Taoyuan Metro)

• The Airport MRT connects Taoyuan International Airport (Terminals 1 & 2) to Taipei Main Station in approximately 40 minutes via the Express Train.
• Fare: TWD 160 (one-way).
• Schedule: Trains depart every 15 minutes.

2.Airport Bus Services 

• Several bus companies provide direct services to Taipei City, including Taipei Main Station and other key areas.
• Duration: 50–70 minutes (depending on traffic).
• Fare: TWD 120–164 (depending on destination).

3.Taxi or Rideshare Services

• Taxis are readily available at the airport taxi stands.
• Duration: Approximately 50 minutes.
• Fare: TWD 1,200–1,500 (depending on traffic).

Step 2: From Taipei City to Hualien Train Station

1.TRA Train Services

• Take a train from Taipei Station to Hualien Station. Multiple train types are available:
• Taroko Express / Puyuma Express: Approximately 2–2.5 hours. Fare: TWD 440–790.
• Tze-Chiang Ltd. Express (3000): Approximately 2.5–3 hours. Fare: TWD 440–800.
• Booking: Advance reservations are recommended. Tickets can be purchased online(Use a website or app) or at Taipei Main Station.

2.Ticket set(Bus& Fast Local Train)

• Railway trains between Hualien and Luodong, between Luodong and Taipei are connected by highway bus for passengers transfer.
• Duration: Approximately 3-3.5hours(Includes transfer time).

3.Other options：Flying from Taipei to Hualien
Traveling from Taipei to Hualien by plane is a fast and convenient option. Below are the details for transportation:

Transportation Options

1. From Taoyuan International Airport to Songshan Airport

• Metro: Total time ~1–1.5 hours; fare ~TWD 160.
• Taxi: Duration ~45–60 minutes; fare ~TWD 1,000–1,500.
• Shuttle Bus: Take an airport bus (e.g., Taoyuan Bus or Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport) to Taipei Main Station, then transfer to the Taipei Metro to reach Songshan Airport.

2. From Taipei to Hualien by Plane

• Flight Information: Flight duration ~40 minutes; fare TWD 1,500–2,500.
• Advantages: Flying from Taipei to Hualien offers the fastest travel time (approximately 40 minutes by air), ideal for participants with tight schedules.

3. From Hualien Airport to Downtown

• Taxi: The taxi ride to downtown Hualien takes about 15-20 minutes and costs approximately NT$200-300.
• Car Rental or Shuttle Services: Car rentals and shuttle services are available at the airport and can be booked in advance.
